While Robinson Secondary School’s “Fiddler on the Roof” winning seven Cappies may have been the big story of the night, another Fairfax school had reason to celebrate. The New School of Northern Virginia, a private school located in the City of Fairfax, took home two Cappies for its production of “The Bacchae.”

Morgaine Gooding-Silverwood won the Lead Actress in a Play Cappie and the show’s makeup team shared a Cappie.

“Honestly, it’s been my dream to accomplish this in high school,” Gooding-Silverwood said. “I can’t believe it because everyone in this category was incredible. I’m so surprised and shocked.”

The members of the makeup team were also pleased.

“I’m so proud and happy,” said sophomore Nam Le.

“It’s exciting,” said junior Hyun Joo Lee.

Freshman Soo Min Lee called the win “awesome,” and junior Liz Lusk said their show’s makeup was based on original designs made by their entire makeup class. “They were colorful and fit the characters extremely well.”
