Salon Bleu will host its first annual “Cuts for the Cure” Sunday, Oct. 4 in Tysons Galleria in McLean.
“Our ‘pink’ theme fund raiser will support the breast cancer efforts of the Maryland Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure,” said Colette Benet, guest relations’ coordinator at Salon Bleu. “One hundred percent of the service revenue from the day will be donated to the cause and we are real excited about the event.”
Clients who schedule an appointment will receive an exclusive gift bag containing products and other donations from supporting retailers. Clients will also be invited to purchase tickets from other raffle baskets. Winners will be announced at the end of the day.
“This opportunity means a lot to our staff,” said Jennifer Pham, Salon Bleu’s director. “ A lot of our stylists have a personal interest in this cause and they did not hesitate to volunteer for the cause.”
“It’s nice to be able to do a service for others,” said Melanie Amoss, a stylist at Salon Bleu. “All proceeds will go straight to charity and our clients will like it.”
Entyse Restaurant and Maggiano’s Little Italy have agreed to donate refreshments and treats, while Bose will provide music. Complementary chair massages and makeup applications will be performed.
“We are so excited about this fund raiser,” Benet said. “This will be our first year and no matter the outcome of the event, we will do it again next year and the year after that.”
