What is the most significant issue facing Fairfax County Public Schools?
1. Elected officials have lost control of a growing and complex administration.
2. Arbitrary and capricious school districting criteria.
3. Children are expected to sit for long periods of time in uncomfortable plastic chairs with fluorescent lighting even though similar conditions would be intolerable for adults.
4. Poor selection, taste and quality of cafeteria food.
5. Wasting quality time on SOL prep and testing.

How would you address this issue?
1. Asking questions other board members are inhibited to ask.
2. Not being handicapped and constrained by party affiliation and debts to special interest groups.

What qualifies you for the office? What qualities do you bring?
Skepticism about what government regulation and administration accomplishes in the educational community. Independence, creativity and problem solving skills.

What differentiates you from your opponents?
An interest and willingness to speak for the concerns of the students and their parents. A promise not to provide filtered answers provided by a political party or an administration. A life growing up in Providence District neighborhoods and graduation from Cedar Lane, Thoreau and Marshall.

If you could say one thing to voters, what would it be?
I will investigate in person how operations are run and how decisions are justified. I am going to walk to school, eat the cafeteria food and sit in class with your children. I am the only candidate following the law and the personal written request from VDOT not to place campaign signs along the roadways. If you don’t like signs along the roads vote for candidates that follow the law and your vote will help keep the medians clear in future elections.

Who are your political heroes/influences?
Harry Truman because he came from humble origins to lead the country. Like many Americans he started a small business. Later, he applied his leadership skills to effectively lead the nation.
