Free Carseat Inspections
Certified technicians from the Sully District Police Station will perform free, child safety carseat inspections Thursday, Oct. 22, from 5-8:30 p.m., at the station, 4900 Stonecroft Blvd. in Chantilly. No appointment is necessary. But residents should install the child safety seats themselves so technicians may properly inspect and adjust them, as needed.
However, because of time constraints, only the first 35 vehicles arriving on each date will be inspected. That way, inspectors may have enough time to properly instruct the caregiver on the proper use of the child seat. Call 703-814-7000, ext. 5140, to confirm dates and times.

Chantilly High Presents ‘Street Scene’
Chantilly High’s upcoming play, "Street Scene," gives the audience a glimpse of life during a time gone by, while making it relevant to today.
Showtimes are Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Oct. 22, 23, 24, at 7 p.m. each night. Tickets are $7 at the door or at www.chantillyhsdrama.com.
"You look into the lives of families in a New York tenement in 1928-29," said senior Chris Albrigo. "A big part of this drama is the poverty, which is the motivation for a lot of the characters."
Director Ed Monk described "Street Scene" as a really strong, dramatic play. "It deals with anti-Semitism, immigration, marriage, infidelity and people trapped by social and economic circumstances," he said. "So even though it was written in 1928, everything still applies today — it’s amazing. And it’s interesting because everybody has a good side and a bad side, so it really makes you think."
