Hayfield Secondary School was a ‘circus’ last week, celebrating the school’s 2009 Homecoming by offering six days of fun and activities for its students and parents.
The school kicked off Homecoming week, themed “Welcome to the Circus,” on Monday, Oct. 19 with “Pajama Day,” when students were allowed to wear their most comfortable sleep attire to their classes. On Tuesday, the school had “Tacky Day,” in which each student was invited to dress as tacky as possible and on Wednesday, students were permitted to wear costumes. Thursday was “Twin Day,” with students dressing the same as others and Friday, the day of the varsity football game, was Orange Day.
On Friday, in addition to dressing in the school’s colors, Powder Puff football games took place, pitting the freshman against the sophomores and the juniors against the seniors. The games were immediately followed by the Homecoming parade, which started in Hayfield Farms and made its way through the neighborhood back to the school. After the parade, students tailgated until the football game that night, with Baja Fresh providing food and refreshments.
