<i>The following incidents were reported by the Arlington County Police Department:</i>
<b>MALICIOUS WOUNDING</b>
<b>04/21/02, 4100 S. Four Mile Run.</b> At approximately 2240hrs, the victim noticed a group of unknown subjects outside apparently watching his residence. The victim and two friends went outside to confront the group. A short fight broke out and one of the subjects brandished a handgun and subsequently fired several shots. The subjects then fled the scene on foot northbound. The victim sustained multiple wounds and was taken to an area hospital. Two juveniles were apprehended as they fled the area and are currently in custody, charged with malicious wounding, malicious wounding by mob, conspiracy to commit malicious wounding by mob, and use of a firearm during a felony.
<b>ROBBERY</b>
<b>1100 S. George Mason Drive.</b> At approximately 0154hrs on April 20, the victim, a 64yo male, was invited into a park by a male subject whom the victim recognized by sight only. The subject said they were going to party and eat food. The victim entered the park and sat on a bench. The subject then punched the victim several times and forcibly removed two watches from the victim's wrist and a chain from his neck. The suspect was described as a WM, Hispanic, in his 30s, 5'4", 180 lbs, brown eyes, black hair, wearing a blue shirt and pants.
<b>2400 S. Lowell St.</b> At approximately 0010hrs on April 21, the victim, a 48yo male, was working as a pizza delivery driver when he approached a delivery address. Subject #1, an unknown male sitting with several other unknown male and female subjects, called out that he had ordered the pizza. The victim initially believed subject #1 and began walking toward the group. As the other subjects laughed, the victim began to suspect that subject #1 was lying. Subject #1 then tried to reach into the victim's pocket, but the victim swatted away subject #1's hand. Subject #1 then grabbed the pizza and soda bottle from the victim and all subjects fled the scene heading southbound on S. Lowell St. Subject #1 was described as a BM, 24-25yo, 6'-6'1", 180-200 lbs, black eyes, short black hair, dark complexion, wearing a white t-shirt.
<b>10 block of S. Carlin Springs Road.</b> At approximately 0345hrs on April 23, the victim, a 32yo male, was working a retail cash register when he was approached by an unknown male subject. The subject asked to use the store telephone and the victim replied that he was not allowed to. The subject then asked for change for a dollar. When the victim opened the register to make change, the subject pushed the victim backwards and grabbed the register tray containing an undetermined amount of currency. The subject then fled the scene on foot, possibly southbound on Carlin Springs Rd. The suspect was described as a BM, early 30s, 6', 180lbs, medium complexion, wearing a black hat and a black or blue sweater or sweatshirt.
<b>ATTEMPTED ROBBERY</b>
<b>1700 S. Jeff Davis Highway.</b> At approximately 1230hrs on April 19, the victim, a 41yo female, parked her vehicle in a parking garage. As she exited her vehicle, she was approached by an unknown male subject who demanded money and began pushing her back into the car. The victim stated that she had no money and offered her purse and keys. The subject then told her to move over to the passenger-side seat. The victim refused and began kicking at the subject. The victim then noticed the subject was wearing a security officer's shirt and asked him what he was doing. The subject became apologetic, said he was trying to teach women a "lesson" and began hugging the victim. The victim then walked to the elevator with the subject next to her kissing her hand and cheek. Once inside the elevator, the victim reported the incident to a co-worker who notified building security. The suspect was described as a BM, 5'8"-5'9", thin build, 30-35yo, with very short hair, clean shaven, dark complexion, wearing a dark bomber-style jacket, a white shirt with "Security Officer" in red, and dark pants.
<b>BURGLARY</b>
<b>3800 N. 9th St.</b> At approximately 1255hrs on April 20, the victim, a 43yo female, discovered that the lock securing her storage locker had been cut. Several items were missing from the locker including golf clubs, a golf travel bag and a golf bag cover.
<b>1300 N. Veitch St.</b> The property manager of an apartment building reported that unknown subject(s) broke into several storage areas sometime between 1700hrs on 04/17 and 1400hrs on 04/18. All the storage units are located in the parking garage and showed signs of forced entry. A partial inventory of the units revealed that 2 microwave ovens and a dishwasher were missing.
<b>BREAKING & ENTERING,</b>
<b>1600 N. Kent St.</b> At approximately 1200hrs on April 21, a security guard observed an unknown male subject dressed in all black walk down the lobby staircase. The guard approached the subject and noticed he was not wearing any shoes and had a large screwdriver in his waistband. The guard asked where the subject's shoes were and the subject stated that he had left them in a friend's car. The subject then left the scene on foot heading north on N. Kent St. The guard checked the premises and discovered a door to an electrical/maintenance room being held open by several metal rods. The lock on the door had been pried off. Inside the room was a blanket and an empty soda bottle. The floor of the room was wet and a empty fire extinguisher was found just outside the door.
Later that day, at approximately 1922hrs, a disorderly subject was reported at a business in the 1500 blk. of Wilson Blvd. The disorderly subject met the description of the breaking & entering suspect. The suspect, Robert Lee Mormon, 40yo, of Forrestville, MD, was arrested and charged with unlawful entry and destruction of property.
<b>2500 N. 12th St.</b> At approximately 2200hrs on April 22, the victim, a 54yo female, arrived home and noticed a light on in an upstairs bedroom. Upon entering the house, she called out that she was home and entered the bathroom. When she exited the bathroom, she noticed the sliding glass door was open and the blinds around it were still moving. The victim went upstairs and discovered that the bedroom light that had been on was now off. A check of the house revealed that no one was home and that the front door lock showed evidence of forced entry. An inventory of the residence revealed that nothing appeared to be missing.
<b>2700 S. Jeff Davis Highway.</b> Upon arriving at work on April 22, employees of two businesses located in a commercial building reported items missing and evidence of forced entry in their respective suites. An inventory of the premises revealed that computer equipment, including a scanner, several CPUs and an LCD projector, were taken by unknown subject(s). Entry into the building and the suites was apparently made by prying open locked doors.
<b>1000 N. Liberty St.</b> At approximately 1130hrs on April 24, the victim, an 83yo female, discovered items missing from her home after coming in from working in her yard. Unknown subject(s) apparently entered the residence through a basement door and removed silver flatware and an undetermined amount of cash using a plastic shopping bag from inside the house. The victim reported that, before she discovered the burglary, she saw a female subject carrying a plastic shopping bag walk out from behind a neighbor's residence. The suspect was described as a female, race/age unknown, 5'2"-5'6", 100-120lbs, wearing a skirt and white scarf on her head.
<b>GRAND LARCENY AUTO</b>
<b>1400 S. Glebe Road.</b> At approximately 1800hrs on April 24, the victim, a 55yo female, discovered that her 1973 2D BMW 2002 was missing from the parking lot. A witness reported seeing two subjects in a red Jeep Cherokee pull up with a trailer, load the victim's car onto the trailer and drive off. The subjects, who had a black puppy with them, told the witness that the owner knew they were taking the vehicle. Suspect #1 was described as a BM, 30yo, 5'7", 170lbs, short black hair, medium complexion, wearing gray slacks, gray shirt and a gold chain. Suspect #2 was described as a BM, 25yo, 6', 200lbs, Afro hairstyle, medium complexion, wearing blue jeans and a dark t-shirt.
