<bt>Park View experienced a busy week with ice days, band and choral concerts, various sports activities, and a Winter Pep Rally.

Students enjoyed a day off of school on Dec. 11, due to the icy conditions. The following day, teachers and students enjoyed a little extra sleep after hearing of the two-hour delay.

It was a musical week for the Patriots, starting with a Jazz and Guitar Concert on Dec. 10. On Dec. 12, Park View's concert and symphonic bands held a performance, along with the choir. This was the first time that the two groups performed together.

Winter sports teams are moving full force this season with weekends full of tournaments. The wrestling team competed on Dec. 7 in a tournament at Fairfax High School. Five wrestlers placed in the top eight. Junior's Josh Damico placed eighth, Mo Abu-Ghannam seventh, Jeff Alwine took second and Dan Bernier took a second. Senior Jason Luke placed fifth. The awards and finals were held on Dec. 9.

The Gymnastics Team placed fourth in their first tournament, at Oakton High School on Dec. 2. They competed against Oakton, Chantilly, and Fairfax High Schools. They received their highest scoring in the vault event. This year's team has one senior, one junior, three sophomores, and three freshmen. The girls have their next meet Dec. 19 at Langley High School.
