<b>Seventh Grader Seeks Sponsors</b>

Robert Jones, a 7th grade student from Thomas Jefferson Middle School, will walk Ballston Common Mall from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16 to raise money for an ambassadorship program in Australia.

The son of a single mother hopes to raise $4,490 by walking the 4 miles around the shopping center. He is seeking support from 12 sponsors with a minimum pledge of $94. Supporters will gather in the food court.

The program the student wishes to attend is called “People to People International Student Ambassador Program.” Jones hopes to be the Virginia representative in Sydney.

<b>CrisisLink Free Gift</b>

CrisisLink and Ballston Common Mall have launched “You Talk. We Listen.” The promotion offers free gifts to Arlington students who show their YTWL key tag at Ballston Common Mall’s customer service booth, from Feb. 11-18. Key tags are designed to ensure that students have the suicide hotline number available at all times. For information about the promotion, call 703-527-6603. <b>School Volunteers Needed</b>

The Arlington Public Schools Partners in Education program is recruiting tutors and lunch buddies to help students of all ages during the school day from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Office assistance is also needed in the Partners in Education office. Computer skills (MSWord and Access) are needed, as well as typing, data input and general clerical skills. A flexible weekday schedule is possible. Call Jean Berg at 703-228-1760.
