Herndon Crime Log

The following incidents were reported by the Herndon Police Department:

POLICE PURSUIT

An officer tried to stop a vehicle for speeding and not stopping for a red traffic signal. The driver attempted to elude the officer by accelerating and turning off his headlights. On Station Street, the driver lost control of his vehicle near Elden Street and the vehicle struck a police cruiser and light pole. Officer James J. Passmore was taken to Columbia Reston Hospital for treatment of a neck and back injury. The driver of the vehicle, who was a 16-year-old Fairfax male, and a 15-year-old passenger were not injured. The driver was release to a parent and charges are pending.

ATTEMPTED ROBBERY

Police responded to a report from a 35-year-old Alexandria man that two men had attempted to rob him at knifepoint. The victim was able to flee the area in his vehicle. A third suspect threw a rock, which struck the vehicle. Giovani Ayala, 21, and Jaime Rivera, 23, both of Herndon, were charged with attempted robbery. Pedro Hernandez-Reyes, 21, of Herndon, was charged with throwing a missile at an occupied vehicle. They were taken to Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and held on no bond.

ASSAULT

600 block Eric Court - A 55-year-old woman reported that an acquaintance had assaulted her. The police charged 58-year-old Kudilil Kumaran of Herndon with assault. He was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where he was held pending $1,000 bond.

800 block Locust Street - A 37-year-old man reported that an acquaintance had assaulted him. The victim was not injured and a 13-year-old male was charged with assault. He was taken to Fairfax County Juvenile Intake.

600 block Center Street - A 23-year-old woman reported that an acquaintance had assaulted her. The victim received a minor injury. Francisco Barahona, 32, of Herndon was charged with assault. He was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.

AUTO TAMPERING

12900 block Worldgate Drive - A vehicle's door locks were damaged.

1100 block Elden Street - A vehicle window was shattered.

1200 block Magnolia Lane - A vehicle window was shattered.

900 block Branch Drive - A vehicle window was shattered.

900 block Grace Street - A vehicle was dented by unknown means.

1200 block Elden Street - A car trunk was scratched.

1000 block Sterling Road - Four tires were cut on a vehicle.

BURGLARY

1200 block Cypress Tree Place - Entry to a residence was gained by unknown means and a computer and computer equipment were removed.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY

300 block Cherry Court - One five-year-old male and two 12-year-old males threw eggs at a residence. Their parents were notified.

1000 block Elden Street - Graffiti was written on a dumpster enclosure.

700 block Elden Street - A sticker was placed on a sign.

DRUNK IN PUBLIC ARREST

800 block Alabama Drive - Henry Negroni, a 44-year-old man of no fixed address, was arrested for being drunk in public.

1000 block Elden Street - Mario Lopez, a 39-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested for being drunk in public.

1200 block Elden Street - Santo Melendez, a 46-year-old man of no fixed address, and Jose Ulloa, 39, of Herndon were arrested for being drunk in public.

LARCENY

700 block Campbell Way - A spoiler was removed from a vehicle.

1200 block Elden Street - Richardo Cisneros-Santome, a 37-year-old Fairfax man, was released on a summons charge with concealment of merchandise.

1200 block Wilshire Drive - A 1997 Acura was removed from the front of a residence.

1100 block Autumnhaze Court - A hubcap was removed from a vehicle.

13000 block Worldgate Drive - A ring was removed from a locker.

1100 block Elden Street - Larell Lansdowne, 18, of Herndon was charged with grand larceny after removing money from a male victim. He was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and held pending $5,000 bond.

12900 block Worldgate Drive - A compact disc player, amplifier and two speakers were removed from a vehicle.

400 block Herndon Parkway - A telephone system was removed from a business.

300 block Reneau Way - A video game system was removed from a residence.

1000 block Monroe Street - Two bicycles were removed from a garage.

600 block Elden Street - Eugene Roaquin, 22, of Ashburn, was charged with grand larceny on Feb. 22 after he removed an amplifier from a business. He was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and held pending $2,500 bond.

800 block Ferndale Avenue - Cash was removed from a cash register.

NARCOTICS VIOLATION ARREST

Herndon Parkway/Bayshire Lane - Police charged Juan Argueta-Posada, 27, of Sterling with possession of marijuana. He was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and held pending $500 bond.

1100 block Elden Street - Keith Honesty, 30, of Herndon, was released on a summons charge with possession of marijuana.

DWI ARRESTS

700 block Archer Court - Alcides Rodriquez, 23, of Herndon was charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI).

800 block Elden Street - Filippelli Soria, 30, of Reston was charged with DWI.

Herndon Parkway/Cavalier Drive - Kenneth Donald, 25, of Alexandria was charged with DWI.

1400 block Sterling Road - Jerry Jefferson, 27, of Herndon was charged with DWI.

Herndon Parkway/Bayshire Lane - Juan Argueta-Posada, 27, of Sterling was charged with DWI.

100 block Elden Street - Kelly Cassel, 32, of Ashburn was charged with DWI.

100 block Elden Street - Jeffrey Kunselman, 34, of Herndon was charged with DWI.

HIT AND RUN

1200 block Alabama Drive - A hit and run driver struck a parked vehicle.

1000 block Herndon Parkway - A hit and run driver struck a vehicle on the roadway.

1200 block Summerfield Drive - A parked vehicle was struck by a hit and run driver.

1200 block Magnolia Lane - Two parked vehicles were struck by a hit and run driver.

300 block Reneau Way - A parked vehicle was struck by a hit and run driver.

1200 block Elden Street - A parked vehicle was struck by a hit and run driver.

1200 block Elden Street - A parked vehicle was struck by a hit and run driver.

TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS

1100 block Herndon Parkway - An accident involving two vehicles resulted in four minor injuries. Damage: $7,000. Charge: Failure to yield the right of way.

1100 block Herndon Parkway - An accident involving two vehicles resulted in no injuries. Damage: $1,300. Charge: Failure to yield the right of way.

1000 block Elden Street - An accident involving two vehicles resulted in no injuries. Damage: $600. Charge: Failure to yield the right of way.

900 block Barton Oaks Place - A vehicle struck a bicyclist resulting in one minor injury. Damage: $600. Charge: None.

900 block Elden Street - An accident involving two vehicles resulted in one minor injury. Damage: $1,500. Charge: Failure to pay full time and attention.

600 block Elden Street - An accident involving two vehicles resulted in no injuries. Damage: $5,200. Charge: Failure to yield the right of way.

200 block Spring Street - An accident involving one vehicle resulted in no injuries. Damage: $1,000. Charge: None.

1100 block Elden Street - An accident involving two vehicles resulted in no injuries. Damage: $2,000. Charge: None.
