<sh>Fourth of July Fight

<bt>At 9:45, July 4 a group of 10 to 15 men allegedly started a fight with another man and his two friends at Lake Fairfax Park in Reston. The 30-year-old man went to his car when the fight began. One of three men charged, Germain Rivera Abrigo, 22, allegedly used a baseball bat and destroyed the rear window of one friend's car. The 30-year-old man sustained a stab wound to the head while his two friends were punched and kicked. The two others charged, both 17, were charged with assault by mob and participating in criminal street gang activity. Abrigo was charged with assault, destruction of property and participating in criminal street gang activity and is being held by a $20,000 bond. The police are still currently looking for another suspect, described as Hispanic with long hair but shaved on the sides, who allegedly stabbed the man.

<sh>Abduction and Arson

<bt>Fairfax County Police have warrants on file for Johnny Casiano, 37, of the 12300 block of Scotch Bonnet Court in Reston. Police are charging Casiano with abduction, malicious wounding and the burning of an occupied dwelling after an incident at his home at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, July 7. According to police, Casiano became involved in an argument with a family member. That person tried to leave the residence, but Casiano would not allow it, said police reports. After the victim left Casiano allegedly set multiple fires in his own home. Leaking propane tanks were found in the house, and the stove was set on high, according to police. Officers from the Reston District Station entered the house and took Casiano into custody. A Fairfax County Police helicopter medevaced Casiano to the Washington Burn Center where he is being treated. The Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department extinguished the fire. The victim sustained a minor injury to the face.

<sh>Veatch Photography Exhibit

<bt>On Monday evening, July 8, the Greater Reston Arts Center held an opening reception for a new photography exhibit by Reston's Charles Veatch. The images of rapids and ice were taken along Cedar Creek in the Shenandoah Valley. The paintings, at Market Street Bar and Grill and the Hyatt Regency Hotel, will be on display until October 7.
