Welcome to Vienna

My Kind of Town

July 19, 2002

Vienna, from my point of view, as an 18-year-old just finishing high school, is a nice place to be. Vienna is one of the last small towns in this area except that it has a big city atmosphere around it. We are two minutes from Route 66, I-495, Oakton, Fairfax, McLean, and the list goes on. If there is nothing to do in Vienna, which does happen from time to time, then we can go to a neighboring city or town or even hop on the Metro and head into D.C. to have some fun.

If there is anything that I have learned about Vienna in my time here, it would be these two things:

* One, do not speed in Vienna, because the Vienna Police will catch you.

* Two, try to avoid Route 123 from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., if at all possible. No big deal right?

Vienna is a real nice town with a large community spirit. In the summer, go to the pools and enjoy your friends; go to the fireworks with the rest of the town. In the fall, the Halloween Parade is a must, and high school football games are fun for the whole family. In the winter go to a basketball game or whatever else strikes your fancy. Springtime in Vienna means Viva Vienna and the bike trail or tennis. Enjoy the town. It has a rich history and provides a lot for the community.
