Registration has started for the Herndon Community Center's Preschool Play Camp program. Camp for ages 3-4 will take place 9:30 a.m.-12 p.m.. and camp for ages 4-5 will take place 1-3 p.m. The Preschool Play Camp runs Monday through Friday, from June 17-Aug. 9, with four two-week sessions. Reston/Herndon residents are invited to participate in Community Yoga Classes. Reston classes are scheduled to begin on Thursday, June 6 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Brown's Chapel. Herndon classes are scheduled to begin on Wednesday, June 5 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Friends Meeting House. Cost is $18 for the introductory class. Additional weekly classes at these locations will follow as part of this new six week session. A portion of the proceeds received will be donated to Reston Interfaith to help others in the community. Reservations are advised due to limited space.

The Reston Junior Chamber of Commerce (Jaycees) invites young people interested in learning valuable leadership and networking skills, while serving his/her community, to join them at one of their next events. Many events are planned and anyone 21-39 is invited.

Homeless pets at Fancy Cats Rescue Team in Herndon, the Fairfax County Animal Shelter, and the Humane Society of Fairfax County Inc. can now find homes with the help of Petfinder.com. Potential adopters can visit the website, enter their zip code and find a list of what pets are available for adoption in their area.

The Herndon Parks and Recreation Department has begun registration for its summer camps. The camps that are being offered are Preschool Play Camp for ages 3-5, from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. or 1-3:30 p.m.; Summer Fun for ages 6-11, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with extended care available; and Teen Discovery for ages 12-15, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. All camps take place at the Herndon Community Center and meet Monday-Friday. Amputee Support Group Of Northern Virginia is a support group for amputees, their families and friends. Meetings are scheduled for the first Tuesday of every month, 7:30-9 p.m. at INOVA Fairfax Hospital, Department of Rehabilitation Gym Area, Women & Children's Center, First Floor, 3300 Gallows Road in Falls Church. There is no cost to participants and parking is provided free in the garage for cars displaying handicapped placards or license plates. Every Wednesday through Oct. 30 there will be a Farmers' Market at Frying Pan Park, 2709 West Ox Road (near Centreville Road) from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The Farmers' Market will offer fresh fruit, vegetables, baked goods, cut flowers, potted plants, cider and honey.
