Lynhaven Shooting Leaves One Wounded

City police are investigating a shooting in the 200 blk. of Lynhaven Dr., on June 16, at approximately 5:10 a.m.

The victim, a 67-year-old male city resident, was shot after arguing with an known acquaintance. The two men began to argue at a residence in the 200 block of Lynhaven Drive.

The suspect, Claude Alexander a 66-year-old male, of 601 Four Mile Road, apartment 111, left the house and returned a short time later armed with a handgun. Upon re-entering the home, Alexander shot the victim one time in the upper body. The suspect then left and the victim was flown to the Washington Hospital Center where he was treated for his non-life threatening injury. His condition is considered good at this time.

The suspect was later arrested and charged with malicious wounding, however, he made bond and was released from jail yesterday.
