The Barcroft neighborhood will hold the 14th annual 4th of July parade through South Arlington, culminating in a picnic at the Community House at 11 a.m. and a dedication ceremony at 11:20 a.m. in honor of the newly constructed wheelchair accessible ramp.

With grant funding from the Warren G. Stambaugh Foundation and donations from many Barcroft neighbors, the ramp was added to the 1908 Community House which is on the National Register of Historic Places. Working through the Historic Architecture and Landscape Review Board of Arlington County, they designed a ramp that is compatible with the character of the building and which meets all ADA suggested criteria. Members of the Stambaugh Foundation including Arlington County Treasurer, Frank O’Leary, and members of the Arlington County Board and Virginia Assembly Delegates will be in attendance.

The ramp has been under plan by the Barcroft School and Civic League for over two years.
