Shabbat Across America
Arlington-Fairfax Jewish Congregation will join synagogues around the country in celebration of Shabbat Across America on Friday, March 8. Festivities start at 6:15 p.m. with a traditional Friday night Sabbath service lead by Rabbi Lia Bass. Rabbi Bass, a native of Brazil, will conduct a "learner's service," describing the meaning and importance of each blessing. Dinner will take place at 7:15 p.m. Cost is $15 for adults and $7.50 for students up to grade 12. The congregation is located at 2920 Arlington Blvd., between Fillmore and Garfield. On Saturday, March 9, Kinder Shabbat for children in grades K-3 begins at 10:30 a.m. and Tot Shabbat for preschool children begins at 11 a.m. The congregation's Web site is http://www.arfax.org.
Musical at Little Falls Church
"One Bad Apple," a new musical by local composer Deborah Wicks La Puma, with book and lyrics by Christopher Wicks La Puma and Raphael Zeno Beck, will be presented Saturday and Sunday, March 9 and 10, at 7:30 p.m. The annual spring musical is described as "a joyous romp through the first pages of Genesis."
On Sunday, March 10, the church will present the Princeton Seminary Choir and "A Concert of Love Songs," at 8:30 and 11 a.m.

Meditation
Arlington Metaphysical Chapel, 5618 Wilson Blvd., will hold a meditation class with Rev. Ragu Pasupulati on Mondays at 7:30 p.m. beginning March 11. The course will discuss the theory and practice of meditation with hands-on experience including yogic breathing and exercises. Cost is $45. Call 703-276-8738.
Children's Consignment Sale
Cherrydale Methodist Church, Lorcom Lane and Nellie Custis Drive, will hold a consignment sale on Saturday, March 16, from 8 a.m.-noon in support of local charities. Items will include children's clothing, equipment, toys, books and maternity gear. Admission is free. Call 703-528-3731.
Lenten Mission
