Ashburn resident Katy Pistole is celebrating the release of "The Palomino, Book One," the first book in a trilogy published by Pacific Press Publishing International. The books follow the adventures of Jenny Thomas and the horse she rescues from slaughter. Pistole will be doing book signings locally and is available for speaking and book signing engagements. Two Loudoun County residents were among the 857 students that Virginia State University named to its honors list for the fall 2001 semester. Carl M. Harris and Jason M. Howard were recognized for their academic excellence by earning a 3.0 grade point average or better.
The Loudoun County Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services will sponsor the 2002 Amateur Softball Association (ASA) Girls' 12-Under Fast Pitch National Championship.
