Centreville High Wins in Odyssey of the Mind

Centreville High School competed in the Regional Meet of Odyssey of the Mind on March 9 at George Mason University against 150 teams from Western Fairfax and Loudoun counties.

Centreville's seven-member team of ninth-graders placed first and will be competing at the state meet on April 13 in Stafford, where they will be going up against Thomas Jefferson High School.

The Centreville High PTSA is the team sponsor and Elaine Simmons-Beck and Victoria Forgione are the coaches.

Odyssey of the Mind is a competition where teams solve long-term problems. The Centreville team had to create a vehicle that was self-propelled and had to blend into three distinct environments. While that was going on, they created the game show, "Where in the world is Chameleon, San Diego?"
