Temple Beth Torah is a Reform Jewish congregation and member of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations (UAHC) that meets at St. John's Episcopal Church in Centreville. The congregation offers the Northern Virginia Jewish community services that provide numerous spiritual, educational, support and social opportunities including religious school for member children age 3 through Bar/Bat Mitzvah and confirmation. * Friday, May 10 — Shabbat service at 7:30 p.m. in the chapel.

* Saturday, May 11 — Join Rabbi Block for a Tot Shabbat service at 9 a.m. at St. John's. An adult program and discussion with Rabbi Block will follow from 10 a.m. to noon: Sacred texts including the Mishnah and Gemarrah.

* Saturday, May 18 — Membership meeting from 6:30-8 p.m. Pizza, drinks and childcare will be provided.

* Sunday, May 19 — Family picnic at Burke Lake Park from 1-5 p.m.

* Friday, May 31 — Shabbat Confirmation service at 7:30 p.m. in the chapel.

Congregation Yad Shalom, a conservative synagogue, is located in Centreville. It provides a traditional service with a progressive format to enhance a Jewish lifestyle. There are wonderful opportunities for a Hebrew School for children.

* Join in the Saturday morning Torah service with Cantor Zucker on May 11 at Little Rocky Run Center # 3 (near Centreville High School).

* Join in the family picnic at Bull Run Park on June 2 at 11:30 a.m.

Capital Worship Center will hold weekly Bible Study and Worship Services on Wednesday nights at 7:30 p.m. at Centre Ridge Elementary School (14400 New Braddock Road, Centreville). Also offered at this time will be Youth Services, Children's Fellowship and a Nursery. Call 703-530-8100.

Clifton Presbyterian Church has the following events:

* 9:45 a.m. — Adult Education: A video-discussion series has begun, featuring Dr. Bart D. Ehrman on the historical context of the New Testament.

Spring Rotation Workshop

* Now through May 12: "The Miracles of Jesus" during the 9:45 a.m. Sunday School hour, children in grades 1-8 will hear about events surrounding the miracles, through one of the following workshops: Food Wonders, Creation Station, Holywood and Story Time.

The Centreville United Methodist Men will be sponsoring a chicken barbecue during the Church Festival on Saturday, May 18, between noon and 4 p.m. Advanced tickets can be purchased at the church (located at New Braddock and Old Centreville Roads) for $5.50 each or $15 for an entire family. St. John's Episcopal Church offers the following:

Sunday Eucharist services are at 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. A nursery for children up to age 3 is available. Opportunities for adult, youth and child enrichment are offered. Body & Soul Aerobics and Strength Training is a fun fitness program choreographed to today's Christian music and it offers great fellowship with other women. Classes are held at Centreville Baptist Church on Route 29 just south of Stone Road. Class times are 9:30 to 11 a.m. Monday and Thursday, and 8 to 9:30 a.m. on Saturdays. Ox Hill Baptist Church will be holding its Vacation Bible School on July 22-26 from 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Vacation Bible School is for children ages 4 years (by June 30, 2002) through sixth grade.
