Worldgate Nails has leased 818 square feet at Worldgate Centre to set up a full-service nail salon. The salon will be located next to the Worldgate Nutrition & Organic Juice bar. The salon, which is scheduled to open this summer, will offer manicures, pedicures, facials and waxing services.

Leon Blanchard was recently appointed as an Erie Insurance representative. Blanchard is principal agent and owner of Capitol Insurance Services in Herndon. Prior to joining The Erie Insurance Group, he owned and operated a Herndon tax, accounting and financial services firm for 10 years.

ERA Teachers recently announced that Dennis Baughan, and the team of Joyce Braithwood and Frank Godwin, achieved Double Eagle for 2002. Eagle status is based on two levels of production and annual sales goals that were met during the calendar year.

Dene, Suzanne Sarhanis, Dick Huntley, Angel Wong, Kuldip Kang, Jo Privott, Sinder Brar and Kathleen Weeks of ERA Teachers, Inc. achieved Eagle Status for 2002. Eagle status is based on two levels of production and annual sales goals that were met during calendar year 2002.

Information Experts (IE) of Herndon has been named a finalist for the Entrepreneur of the Year Award by Ernst & Young. The award recognizes great business achievements around the world. In less than five years, IE has grown from a husband and wife team to a company employing over 30 permanent staff, and an additional 25 contractors. IE has two Herndon locations and is forecasting sales of approximately $7 million for 2002.

WAM!NET, a global provider of secure, digital content delivery and hosting solutions, has opened its Government Services division in Herndon and plans to create more than 200 new jobs through a $1.5 million investment in Fairfax County.

Information Experts was awarded a Citation of Excellence at the 2002 ADDY Awards, sponsored by the Advertising Club of Metropolitan Washington, on April 2. The award-winning piece, produced for Excel Water Systems, won in the category of Interactive Media, Disk-Based Sales Package and was Information Experts' first submission to the ADDY Awards.
