Navy Lt. Comdr. John Fuller, a 1983 graduate of West Springfield High School, recently completed Foal Eagle ‘02 aboard the guided missile destroyer U.S.S. Curtis Wilbur, home ported in Yokosuka, Japan.

Army Spec. Theresa M. Trabue has received the Army Commendation Medal for dutifully and faithfully completing a military service obligation or term of enlistment in a commendable and distinguished manner. Trabue received the medal while assigned as a medical specialist with Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 65th Engineer Battalion at Schofield Barracks, Oahu, Hawaii. Trabue is married to Michael Trabue and is the daughter of Carole I. Stabile of Springfield. She received an Associate's Degree in 1996 from Paris Junior College in Texas.

Army National Guard Spec. Philip L. Hoyle, son of Henry Hoyle of Springfield, has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, SC. He is a 1996 graduate of West Springfield High School.

Marine Corps Pvt. Lionel G. Plaza recently completed basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C. Plaza is a 2001 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School in Springfield.

Marine Corps Pvt. Damien S. Bell, son of Catherine E. and Malcolm J. Bell of 7757 Tiverton Drive, Springfield, recently completed 12 weeks of basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Paris Island, SC.

Marine Corps Pfc. Lucas L. Rueda, son of Sara P. and Jaimie R. Lopez of 5700 Belfast Lane in Springfield, recently graduated from the Bulk Fuel Specialist Course. Rueda is a 2001 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School in Springfield.
