Darrell Green Visits Campagna Kids

Darrell Green of the Washington Redskins paid a visit to the Campagna Kids site at Lyles Crouch Traditional Academy and met with children who participate in The Campagna Center's before-school program.

Campagna Kids provides before and after-school care for more than 1,200 children a day at 13 sites in Alexandria.

The children and staff were thrilled to meet the seven-time All-Pro defensive back, an award-winning athlete who possesses great speed, as well as a keen sense of community and a determination to help children in need.

Through the Darrell Green Youth Life Foundation, Green sponsors five school-age learning centers in the metropolitan Washington area. During the visit to The Campagna Center, Green met with Lucretia Marshall, site director of Campagna Kids and Katherine Morrison, executive director of The Campagna Center, to discuss the needs of school-age children and effective strategies for helping young children grow to become productive adults.

Green also addressed a standing-room only crowd at The Campagna Center's Business Leadership Council membership meeting. The Council is comprised of 215 civic, business and community leaders who support The Campagna Center.

Green spoke about his experiences working with children and said that his ultimate goal is to be able to provide guidance and support to boys and girls by focusing on education, values, home and community.
