<sh>Rabies Alert

<bt>Fairfax County Police Animal Control Officers responded to a report of a dead raccoon that was killed by a domestic animal in the 10900 block of Santa Clara Drive in the Fairfax Villa area Thursday, Nov. 14, at 7:30 p.m. The caller's dog got into a fight with a raccoon and killed it. The carcass was turned over to the Fairfax County Health Department, where it tested positive for the rabies virus. The dog was not injured, and the owner was instructed to quarantine the dog and obtain a rabies vaccine booster for it.

<sh>City Offices Close for Thanksgiving

<bt>On Nov. 28 and 29, city government officers and the General District Court will close in observance of Thanksgiving. The CUE Bus will not run Nov. 28 and will run on its modified weekday schedule Nov. 29; call 703-285-7859 for more information.

Residents with regular refuse and recyclables collection on Thursday, Nov. 28, must place their items at the curb Wednesday, Nov. 27. All other trash and recyclables will be collected as usual. For more information, call 703-285-7995.
