Chauncey Laurent Walker, 23, has been charged with burglary with the intent to commit rape while armed and is being held without bond in the Alexandria jail.
Police were called to the 1400 block of N. Van Dorn Street at around 4 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 30, to investigate two cases of sexual assault. The investigation revealed that a 26-year-old female and a 30-year-old female had returned to their apartment at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 29, to find the suspect inside their residence, armed with a gun. Unable to escape, he sexually assaulted both them. It wasn't until six hours later were the two women able to escape from the apartment.
Based on information from the victims, police located Walker in a nearby apartment later that same morning. Walker had been staying at the apartment but has no permanent address.
