Autumnfest Returns

The humidity is gone, the leaves have started to change and the baseball playoffs are heating up. Yes, it is that time of year.

Celebrate the changing of the seasons when Autumnfest kicks off at Reston Town Center on Saturday, Oct. 12. From 3-7 p.m., the warm apple cider will be flowing and residents are invited to downtown Reston to say good-bye to summer and hello to fall. Children can get free face paintings and balloon sculptures while adults can check out the fresh produce provided at the farmer's market. Families will not want to miss the two-footed footwork of Manassas' Bull Run Cloggers or the four-footed footwork of the Animal Ambassadors. For a $5 donation to Reston Interfaith, visitors can show off their pumpkin decorating skills or take a ride on an authentic hay wagon. Kids looking to get a head start on their Halloween trick-or-treating can do just that starting at 5 p.m. With their bags full of candy, they can sit down for some "Tales from the Pumpkin Patch" at the town center's pavilion.
