<bt>Congratulations to the Woodson girls field hockey team for their recent wins against Madison and McLean. The team was recently rated seventh in the region.

The golf team played very well in the Northern Region Tournament, placing third overall. Richard Snead also qualified for the state tournament next week in Portsmouth, Virginia.

Woodson's football team triumphed in McLean's homecoming game, improving its record to 2-0 in the Liberty District. After a frustrating lack of momentum in the game's early minutes, the Cavs were finally able to put points on the board with an interception and return for a touchdown by Mike Scott. Touchdowns from Joseph Martin and quarterback Mike Solomon and a blocked punt by Andrew Colangelo cemented a 30-13 victory over the McLean Highlanders.

An important meeting regarding Woodson's scheduled renovation will take place Wednesday, Oct. 23 at 7:30 p.m. in the Woodson cafeteria. Fairfax County Public Schools chief operating officer Tom Brady will be present to outline planning, the renovation's impact on students, and the possibility of building a new Woodson on the property. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions.
