<b>ROBBERY BY FORCE</b>

<b>2500 S. Columbia Pike.</b> At approximately 7 p.m. on Aug. 29, the victim, a 62-year-old female, was approached by an unknown male subject while walking across a parking lot. The subject asked for directions, then grabbed the victim's purse and fled the scene. Several witnesses pursued the subject for approximately two blocks, caught up to him, and held him until officers arrived approximately three minutes later. The suspect, Mustapha Jamal Ali, 38, of Arlington, was arrested and charged with robbery.

<b>ARMED ROBBERY</b>

<b>1700 block of Jefferson Davis Highway.</b> At approximately 8:20 p.m. on Sept. 4, the victim, a 60-year-old male, was entering his hotel room when a subject attempted to grab his wallet. The victim started to resist but the subject implied he had a weapon. The subject then took an undetermined amount of cash from the wallet and returned the wallet. The subject left the scene toward the elevators. The subject was described as a black male, approximately 30 years of age, 6 feet, 2 inches to 6 feet, 3 inches tall, with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt with an unknown logo, blue jogging pants, and white tennis shoes.

<b>300 block of S. 23rd St.</b> At approximately 7:52 p.m. on Aug. 27, the victim, a 20-year-old male, was working as a clerk in a store when two unknown subjects entered the store. The first subject looked at a store display, and the second subject asked the victim for assistance. As the victim assisted the second subject, the first subject walked over and placed a handgun against the victim's back. The first subject led the victim to the safe while the second subject continued to browse around the store. The first subject ordered the victim to empty the money from the safe into a bag. The first subject then took the cash register key from the victim and gave it to the second subject. The second subject emptied to contents of a cash register. The subjects then left the store with an undetermined amount of cash.

The first subject was described as a black male, 5 feet, 8 inchs tall, 130 pounds, short hair and a beard wearing black pants and a black T-shirt. The second subject was described as a black male, 5 feet, 5 inches tall, 190 pounds, wearing black "warm-up" pants and a black T-shirt.

<b>ATTEMPTED ARMED ROBBERY</b>

<b>1600 block of S. Glebe Road.</b> At approximately 11:31 p.m. on Sept. 4, the victim, a 63-year-old male, was using a pay phone when a newer model black car drove into the parking lot. An unknown subject exited the vehicle, approached the victim, and demanded his wallet. The victim punched the subject. The subject then pepper sprayed the victim. The subject returned to his vehicle and fled the scene without stealing anything. The subject was described as a black male, in his 20s, 5 feet, 10 inches tall, 180 pounds. He was wearing a white T-shirt and dark pants.

<b>ATTEMPTED RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY</b>

<b>300 block of S. 23rd St.</b>At approximately 11:55 p.m. on Sept. 4, the victim, a 23-year-old female, was inside her apartment when an unknown subject attempted to enter her apartment via the front door. The victim screamed and the subject left the scene. The victim could not describe the subject.
