With the May 1 national reply deadline approaching, undecided seniors are frantically planning college visits, in the midst of reviewing for IB exams and making preparations for this year’s Prom. This year, South Lakes students were accepted into a number of prestigious colleges and universities around the nation including Bowdoin College, Brown University, Carnegie Mellon University, Cleveland Institute of Music, College of William and Mary, Duke University, Eastman School of Music, Georgetown University, Hamilton College, Johns Hopkins University, McGill University, New York University, Northwestern University, Rhode Island School of Design, Smith College, Swarthmore College, Tufts University, University of Southern California, University of Virginia, and United States Naval Academy.
This year’s junior and senior Prom, sponsored by the class of 2004, will take place on Friday, April 25 at the Dulles Airport Marriott. The After Prom Party will take place at the YMCA. Juniors and seniors elected their Prom Court the week before spring break.
The junior class elected princes Evan Anderson, Tyler Greene, Phil Kipperman and Mark Steidler and princesses Ali Greene, Kelli Grim, Lena Lukic and Shannon Yrizarry while the seniors chose princes Ben Bjorlo, Asher Demme, Nate Donofrio, Robbie Drury, Doug McLaughlin-Williams, and Melvin Scott and princesses Lia Ames, Ashley Davis, Ashley Dollamore, Erin Girardi, Ebony Jones, and Courtney Voss.
