Two sales associates from the Weichert, Realtors' Centreville/Clifton office have been honored for their achievements in March. Bob Graham was honored as the office's top producer with the most resale revenue units and the highest dollar volume. He was also honored for generating the most sales and the most listings sold. James Meisel was recognized as the top lister.

Long & Foster, Realtors announces its top sales associates for the month of March:

* Burke / Fairfax Station: Dale Gabardy, manager of the Burke / Fairfax Station Long & Foster office, announced Ashley Leigh as the top producer, top lister, top seller and the agent with the most new listings with a sales volume of $10,594,037.

* Centreville: Pat Lawless, manager of the Centreville Long & Foster office, announced Cindy Glacken as the top producer and the top lister with a sales volume of $2,620,590; Rajiv Vashist as the top seller; and Cindy Donovan, Debra Hagan and Tim Horinko as the agents with the most new listings.

* Fairfax: Frank Lee, manager of the Fairfax Long & Foster office, announced Debbie Dogrul as the top producer, top lister, top seller and the agent with the most new listings with a sales volume of $10,676,240.

* Fair Oaks: Val August, manager of the Fair Oaks Long & Foster office, announced Ron Rush, CRS as top producer, top lister, top seller and the agent with the most new listings with a sales volume of $8,758,296.

Keller Williams Realty in Chantilly has chosen to sponsor those in the armed services overseas as well as the wounded military brought back home. The office is collecting items to be shipped overseas. Real estate agent Teta Johnson, wife of a retired Marine officer who also has two sons in active military duty, has provided a list of items in demand. She is organizing the distribution of goods through the proper channels. Anyone may drop off items for donation to the Keller Williams office, 4300 Chantilly Shopping Center Drive, Chantilly. It is connected to the Dulles Expo Center off Route 28 and Willard Road. The main entrance faces Willard Road. Business hours at 9-6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Items in demand are: long distance phone cards, baby wipes, T-shirts, socks, boxer shorts, pens, stationery, candy, gum, packaged snacks, books and magazines, personal CD players, music CDs, sunglasses, suntan lotion, shaving kits,, toothpaste, mouthwash, deodorant, combs, shaving cream. No cash donations allowed.

Century 21 Real Estate Corporation has recognized Kelly Normand of Century 21 New Millennium as a Quality Service Producer.

Affordable housing in Fairfax County? Many would argue that this is an impossibility in one of the nation's most affluent regions. Now, thanks to the Operation Match program of Northern Virginia Family Service and Fairfax County, low-income residents are being linked to affordable housing through this free referral service that matches homeowners with those seeking a place to live in order for both to benefit from a shared living situation.

Individuals interested in learning more about Operation Match can attend Homesharing Housing Fairs being held on May 10 at Falls Church Community Center from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.; May 26 at Mt. Vernon Recreation Center from noon to 2 p.m.; and June 7 at Wakefield Park Recreation Center from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Long & Foster Real Estate recently kicked off its S.T.A.R.S. Program (Superbly Trained Agents Reaching Success) for newly-licensed and newer Long & Foster sales associates.

More than 600 new agents throughout Maryland and the District of Columbia gathered in a packed ballroom in Greenbelt, MD, to hear regional management and advice from a panel of successful agents with several years of practical experience under their belts. The new program is a result of the firm's commitment to consistently offer support for all of its agents from the day they become licensed to never ending continuing education.

The S.T.A.R.S. program supplements corporate and office training to form a strong career foundation upon which new Long & Foster agents will build their success.

The Long & Foster Companies reported that total March sales reached an all-time company record of $3.5 billion for the month.

The numbers include: Long & Foster Real Estate, Inc. with sales of $2.5 billion on 9,656 properties sold, an all-time record for the company, and an increase of 23 percent over last year's record performance. The firm's three affiliate business were up 46 percent in real estate sales values for March.

Prosperity Mortgage, the firm's mortgage affiliate, reported $423 million in volume of business. Strong numbers were also posted by company affiliates Mid-States Title, $406 million, and Long & Foster Insurance, $179 million.

"Real estate sales continue extremely strong," said Wes Foster, president of The Long & Foster Companies. "Real estate brokerage firms have never before experienced a market with such high activity and ongoing scarcity of inventory."

The top six Northern Virginia offices were: Burke Fairfax Station/Clifton ($82 million); Reston ($60 million); McLean ($51 million); Sterling/Potomac Falls ($44 million) and Alexandria/Old Town Historic District ($44 million).

<lst>Wes Foster, president of Long & Foster Real Estate, delivered his annual "State of the Company" address before the Sales Advisory Council (S.A.C.) on March 11, at Martin's Crosswinds. The S.A.C. is a committee of sales associates who represent each of Long & Foster's nearly 200 sales offices. They meet regularly to exchange ideas in a relaxed forum and provide feedback aimed at improving company operations and performance.

Foster said 2002 was The Long & Foster Company's best year ever, and that mortgage interest rates were at an all-time record low. He told the group that the company's success is demonstrated by its increased sales volume, many new sales associates, and dominant market share throughout the firm's six-state mid-Atlantic region and Washington, D.C. During the past year, the Long & Foster Company's total sales volume increased by 24 percent to $33 billion.

Virginia REALTORS has launched a new Web site at www.VARealtor.com. It provides information for brokers, agents, specialty practitioners, association leaders and local Realtor associations. There is also a marketplace area for links to home buying- or selling-related services, and a news area with statistics on home sales for the state. The site includes information for foreign-language-speaking Realtors, properties for sale and rent, a directory of Realtors and commercial property information.
