The Long & Foster Companies reported that 2002 sales reached an historical high of nearly $33 billion in annual sales volume, $32,974,373,499 to be exact, — compared to $25,202,096,445 billion the previous year.
All of The Long & Foster Companies reported all-time company record sales for 2002: Long & Foster Real Estate, Inc. reported sales of $22,982,277,259 billion on 97,460 properties sold, up 24 percent over 2001.
The top five Long & Foster offices for 2002 based on annual sales volume were as follows (in descending order): Bethesda Gateway in Montgomery County, Md. ($1 billion); McLean ($590 million); Burke/Fairfax Station/Clifton ($533 million); Fair Oaks ($510 million); Friendship Heights, D.C. ($456 million).
In Northern Virginia, year-end sales volume ranking for the top three offices were: McLean ($590 million); Burke/Fairfax Station/Clifton ($533 million); Fair Oaks ($510 million). The top three Northern Virginia offices, all in Fairfax County, were also among the top five in the entire company in year-end sales volume.

Two sales associates from Weichert, Realtors' Centreville/Clifton office have been honored for their achievements in November.
* Bob Graham was honored as the office's top producer with the most resale revenue units and the highest dollar volume. He was also honored for generating the most sales and the most listings sold.
* Lynn Rowland was recognized as the top listor.
Esther Pryor of Fairfax was installed as 2003 Chairman of the Board of the Northern Virginia Association of Realtors on Dec. 11, at a ceremony at NVAR headquarters. Pryor is a sales manager for Avery-Hess Realtors in Vienna.
A Realtor since 1985, Pryor has served on NVAR’s Board since 1998. She has participated in and chaired various NVAR committees including Strategic Planning, Grievance, Arbitration, Political Action, Convention, and Education. Also active at the national and state Realtor Association levels, Pryor served as a Director for NAR in 2002 and on the VAR Board in 1995.
Long & Foster Real Estate announces that its $125,000 Scholarship Program will end its search for well-rounded graduating high school seniors entering an accredited four-year college or university on March 3, 2003. All applications must be received by the deadline date of March 3, in order for the selection committee, comprised of local members of academia, to select the final scholarship winners by Spring 2003.
The Long & Foster Scholarship Program will award $1,000 to each of 125 worthy recipients throughout the five-state region for the 2003-2004 academic year. The monetary scholarship award will be made payable directly to the college or university in the student's name. Once the winners have been selected, the scholarships will be awarded beginning May 1, 2003.

Virginia REALTORS has launched a new Web site at www.VARealtor.com. It provides information for brokers, agents, specialty practitioners, association leaders and local Realtor associations. There is also a marketplace area for links to home buying- or selling-related services, and a news area with statistics on home sales for the state. The site includes information for foreign-language-speaking Realtors, properties for sale and rent, a directory of Realtors and commercial property information.
