The following incidents were reported by the Herndon Police Department:
ASSAULT
600 block of Eric Court. On Jan. 9 at 12:47 p.m., a 29-year-old female reported to police she was assaulted by an acquaintance. The victim received minor injuries. Saleha Taloo, a 31-year-old male of Herndon, was charged with assault. He was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
700 Block of Palmer Drive. On Jan. 11 at 12:29 a.m., a 40-year-old female reported to police she was assaulted by an acquaintance. The victim received minor injuries. The investigation is continuing.
1200 Block of Magnolia Lane. On Jan. 7 at 1:02 p.m., a 29-year-old female reported to the police she had been assaulted by an acquaintance. Delfino Reyes Sanchez, a 26-year-old man of Herndon, was charged with assault. He was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
500 Block of Florida Ave. On Jan. 8 at 1:01 a.m., a 20-year-old male reported to the police he was assaulted by an unknown assailant. The victim received minor injuries.
DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY
400 Block of Florida Ave. On Jan. 6 at 2:37 p.m., the left front window on a vehicle was broken.
600 Block of Center St. On Jan. 10 at 11:41 p.m., two windows were broken at a residence.
1100 Block of Elden St. On Jan. 12 at 5 a.m., graffiti was written on the side of a business.
1100 Block of Lisa Court. On Jan. 7 at 5:19 a.m., the right front window on a vehicle was broken.
Crestview Drive/Bond Street. On Jan. 9 at 12:47 p.m., graffiti was written on a business, three vans, and a stop sign.
700 Block of Grant St. On Jan. 7 at 8:44 a.m., a rear window of a business was broken.
700 Block of Lynn St. On Jan. 8 at 11:45 a.m., the rear window of a vehicle was broken.
LARCENY
1000 Block of Alabama Drive. On Jan. 11 at 5:02 p.m., the right front tire and two front hubcaps were removed from a vehicle.
500 Block of Aspen Drive. On Jan. 9 at 11:21 a.m., an amplifier, CDs, head unit, and sub woofers were removed from a vehicle.
DWI ARREST
Elden Street/Ferndale Avenue. On Jan. 7 at 2:16 a.m., Bradley Kent Mummaw, a 27-year-old man of Herndon.
DRUNK IN PUBLIC
1100 Block of Elden St. On Jan. 12 at 3:44 p.m., Fernando Ayala, a 29-year-old man with no fixed address.
DRUG/NARCOTIC VIOLATION
1000 Block of Elden Street. On Jan. 6 at 12:45 a.m., John Matthew Simmons, a 19-year-old man of Herndon, was charged with possession of marijuana.
400 Block of Elden St. On Jan. 11 at 9:53 p.m., Audra Jeanine Halcombe, a 19-year-old woman of Ashburn, was charged with possession of marijuana.
SEXUAL ASSAULT
300 Block of Elden St. On Jan. 7 at 11:45 p.m., a female juvenile reported to the police she had been sexually assaulted by two male acquaintances in a hotel. The investigation is continuing.
