<sh>Stabbing

<bt>Fairfax County Police are investigating the stabbing of 15-year-old Burke area boy that occurred in the 9400 block of Lapstrake Lane in the Burke area on Wednesday, Jan. 8 around 3 p.m. The victim and the suspect, also a 15-year-old Burke area boy, were riding home from school on a Fairfax County school bus when they got into an argument. They got off the bus and the suspect continued to threaten the victim. The suspect went to his home and returned with a knife. The suspect stabbed the victim in the arm. The victim was transported by a family member to Inova Fairfax Hospital and was treated and released for a non-life threatening injury. The suspect was charged with malicious wounding. Both boys were students at Lake Braddock Secondary School.

<sh>Intruder Arrested

<bt>Fairfax County Police arrested a man following a burglary of an occupied dwelling that occurred in the 8400 block of White Feather Court in the Springfield area, on Wednesday, Jan. 8, about 5 a.m.

The victims, a husband and wife in their thirties, were just waking up when they heard a noise coming from the main level of their home. As the husband went to investigate the noise, he observed a man in his basement. The homeowner immediately locked the basement door and he and his wife fled to neighbor's house where they called the police.

Upon arrival, patrol officers set up a perimeter around the house while a K-9 unit checked the inside of the home with negative results. Officers found a man standing nearby who matched the description of the suspect the victim saw in his basement. Further investigation revealed that the man, 42-year-old Jeffrey Lee Isom, of Annandale Road in the Annandale area, was responsible for the burglary, according to police. Isom was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Adult Detention Center where he was charged with burglary, felony destruction of property and possession of PCP.

<sh>Dog Attack

<bt>A Fairfax County Police Animal Control officer is investigating a dog bite which occurred on Surrey Hill Place near Durham Court in the Burke area, Tuesday, Jan. 7, about 8 p.m. A 37-year-old Burke area man was walking from his car to his home when a medium size, gray-haired dog with upright ears ran toward him and bit him on the right ankle. As the victim tried to get away from the dog, a man who appeared to be Asian, yelled for the dog to let go of the victim. The dog released his bite and the victim ran to his home. The Asian man and his dog left the area.

The victim went to his doctor and received a Tetanus and Diphtheria shot. The victim may have to undergo treatment for rabies exposure unless the dog and its owner are identified and it can be determined that the dog is current on its rabies vaccination.
