Anna M. Siegert, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph G. Siegert of Fairfax, was awarded a University of Dayton John W. Berry Sr. Honors scholarship. Siegert is a graduate of James W. Robinson Jr. Secondary School and is majoring in chemical engineering.

Syracuse University has named Kathleen Richardson of Springfield a Chancellor’s Scholar. The scholarship is awarded to entering students who have an outstanding academic record.

Adam Johnson of Burke and Amy McKeever of Springfield have received the Founder’s Scholarship from Syracuse University. To receive the scholarship, students must have strong high-school credentials, participate in extracurricular and community activities and demonstrate good citizenship.

Dean’s Scholarships have been awarded by Syracuse University to Jeffrey Evans and Rebecca Weiner, both of Springfield, and Leeland Clark and Paige Eilenberg, both of Fairfax. The scholarships are given to entering first-year students in recognition of outstanding academic achievement.

Jessica R. Lang of Fairfax graduated magna cum laude in English from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania on Dec. 14, 2002.

Michael Balch, son of David Balch of Fairfax Station, hosts a weekly, two-hour radio show on 88.7 WWPV-FM, the student-run radio station of Saint Michael’s College. Balch is a junior business administration major at Saint Michael’s College in Vermont. He is a graduate of Robinson Secondary School.

Jeffery R. Payne, son of Don and Wendy Payne of Springfield, has been named to the dean's list at York College for fall semester 2002. He is a graduate of West Springfield High School.

Lori Beauchamp, daughter of Fred and Lois Beauchamp, was named to the dean's list for the fall semester 2002 at Longwood University. She is a graduate of Lake Braddock Secondary School.

Christene M. Darcy, daughter of Maureen E. Darcy of Springfield, was named to the dean's list for the fall 2002 semester at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Va. She is a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School in Springfield.
