Robber Hits First Union National Bank

For the second time in less than two years, a robber has hit the First Union National Bank on Belle View Boulevard.

Fairfax County Police Captain Larry Moser, commander of the Mount Vernon District Station, said that at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 1, a man entered the bank and announced a robbery. It was assumed that he had a weapon and he left with an undisclosed amount of money.

There is no description of the car, if any, but the description of the suspect is that he's a white male with olive skin, square-rimmed glasses, short-cropped hair, mustache and goatee, well-groomed with black sports coat and pants.

At the time the Gazette went to press, Moser and police officials were in the process of debriefing bank employees and using bloodhounds to help with tracking of the suspect.
