New Associate Pastor Arrives

<bt>MaryAnn McKibben Dana was installed as Burke Presbyterian Church's associate pastor on Sunday, July 20. The event marked the culmination of a yearlong search.

Dana will focus her efforts on developing the members' spiritual growth, training members for individual and collective service to the church and community, and preaching the Word. She replaced the Rev. Emily D'Andrea Burman, who left to take a position in McLean.

Coming from the Columbia Theological Seminary in Atlanta, Ga., Dana has had extensive work in the ministry, leading numerous retreats and workshops at all levels of the denomination.

At her graduation in May, Dana received two of the top awards "The Wild's Book Prize," Columbia's highest academic honor, and the Presbyterian Women of the Presbytery of St. Andrew Preaching Award for preaching the most outstanding sermon at Columbia during the academic year.

Dana is married to Robert Dana, and they have one daughter, 6-month-old Caroline.
