AUTOMOBILE DECALS
<bt>Decals can be obtained for $24 through the Commission of the Revenue online (go to http://www..loudoun.gov, then click on "Pay Tax & Decals Online"); via fax, 703-777-0263; or by going into the Leesburg or Sterling offices of the Commission. Call 703-777-0260.
<bt>PERSONAL PROPERTY TAXES
<bt>Personal property and real-estate taxes may be mailed to Treasurer, P.O. Box 347, Leesburg, VA 20178 or dropped off at the county government building, 1 Harrison St. S.E., Leesburg. Treasurer's office is located on the first floor. A parking garage is located behind the building. Call 703-777-0280 for more information.
Personal property taxes are assessed on automobiles, boats, trailers and other vehicles. Current rate is $4.20 per $100 of value.
Bills for assessed property value are sent semiannually by the county and must be paid by May 5 and Oct. 5 of each year.
<bt>REAL-ESTATE TAXES
<bt>Loudoun County also bills residents semiannually for real estate, $1.11 per $100 of assessed value, according to Treasurer Roger Zurn. These real-estate taxes must be paid by June 5 and Dec. 5 of each year.
