<sh>DuPree Seeks Full Term
<bt>School Board member Robert DuPree (Dulles District) has confirmed that he will seek election this fall to a full term. The long-time resident of Ashburn Farm submitted his petitions the week of May 19 to qualify for the ballot.
Last January, the School Board unanimously chose DuPree from eight applicants to fill an unexpired term representing the new Dulles District. He previously represented the Dulles District on the Loudoun County Planning Commission, and served as both vice chairman and chairman of that panel.
Dupree is a 19-year resident of Loudoun County. He currently has three children in Loudoun County Public Schools at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. He is a founding member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Ashburn and is a former member and coach in the Loudoun Youth Soccer Association and the Dulles Little League. He is a former congressional staff member and has been a lobbyist for a national trade association for the past fourteen years.
<sh>York Discloses Campaign Finances
<bt>Board Chairman Scott K. York filed a periodic finance report on June 2 showing that he raised $49,310 for the period of April 1-May 27, 2003. The total included $8,686 from in-kind contributions, with the balance coming from 191 Cash donations. Contributions for the period brought York's total to $126,571.99 for the campaign to date. He also reported that he had $56,863.90 cash on hand at the close of the reporting period.
