The community of Broadlands in Ashburn has been registered as a Community Wildlife Habitat site with the National Wildlife Federation (NWF). Broadlands is now ranked with the NWF at number 20. A volunteer group of community residents, the Broadlands Habitat Team led by Laura Floyd, worked toward the NWF Registration over the past year. Broadlands is targeting 2007 as their Community Wildlife Habitat Certification year. According to the residential community, only four others in the country have achieved the rank of Certification. Nation wide, Virginia leads the way with the highest number of communities with Reston, Arlington, South Riding and Broadlands officially involved in the NWF Community Wildlife Habitat program.

Broadlands Associates will present a check for $10,000 to Mill Run Elementary in Ashburn on Friday, June 13. This is the second donation that Broadlands Associates has contributed this year to community schools. Hillside Elementary was presented with a donation of $10,000 toward their Playground Fund.

Broadlands Associates, a partnership between Terrabrook and The Van Metre Companies, is the developer of Broadlands.

The Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage (CBBRB) School of Real Estate offers weekly "Principles of Real Estate" classes at CBRB offices throughout Virginia, Washington, D.C., Delaware and Maryland, for anyone interested in becoming a Realtor. At the Dulles/Loudoun Training Center, sessions will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 6:30-10 p.m., July 8-Sept. 4. The Wiechert, Realtors' Dulles office announces its top producers for April. Linda Sonnhalter was honored as the office's top producer with the most resale revenue units and the highest dollar volume. She also generated the most listings and the most listings sold. Clark Smith was recognized as the top sales associate. The office is located at 21351 Ridgetop Circle.

The Virginia Housing Development Authority is offering free courses for new homeowners on July 15 and 16 at the Eastern Loudoun Regional Library, 21030 Whitefield Place, Sterling, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The courses will discuss topics including budgeting, credit, qualifying for a home loan, applying for a mortgage, and loan closings.
