Services Scheduled For 'Baby Doe'

Fairfax County Police Captain Larry Moser, commander of the Mount Vernon District Station, said that they still haven't found the mother of the baby whose remains were found at Mount Vernon Country Club recently. Moser said that they're waiting for DNA results to determine the sex of the baby.

In the meantime, the Fairfax County Police have named the baby 'Dernon Doe.'

Members of St. James Episcopal Church, which is across the street from the golf course where the baby was found, call it 'James Doe.' This week a parishioner at St. James, suggested that they hold services for the baby.

Father Sevier, rector at St. James, agreed, and services have been scheduled for next Tuesday, June 24, at 1 p.m. Demaine Funeral Home has agreed to provide the cremation services free of charge. The remains will be interred in St. James' memorial garden after the service.

St. James Episcopal Church is located at 5614 Old Mill Road. For more information, call 703-780-3081.
