The following incidents were reported to the Reston District of Fairfax County.
<cal1>Sexual Assault
<lst>Reston area. A Reston girl, 7, was found by a family friend in bed, crying. Police were summoned and investigation revealed she had been sexually assaulted. Marco Q. Contreras, 46, of the Reston area, was charged with two counts of aggravated sexual battery.
11900 block of South Lakes Drive. Lt. Victor LoPreto of the Reston District Station was checking on a parked car at South Lakes Park and he found a man and woman inside. The woman asked for help and Lt. LoPreto attempted to handcuff the man. The man struggled and broke free after being sprayed with pepper spray. Investigation revealed the man had been sexually assaulting the woman, who is an acquaintance. Walter Rene Hernandez, 31, of 2355 Emerald Heights Court in the Reston area, was arrested and charged with rape.
<cal1>Burglary
<lst>700 block of Walker Road. Great Falls Elementary School was entered by breaking out a second story window. Fire extinguishers were sprayed throughout the first and second floor hallways.

<lst>2300 block of Archdale Road. Bicycles reported stolen.
500 block of Arnon Ridge Court. Golf clubs taken from parked vehicle.
1700 block of Ascot Way. Bicycle reported stolen.
700 block of Bennett St. Yearbook reported stolen.
2100 block of Centreville Road. Gasoline taken from service station without payment being made.
10900 block of Leesburg Pike. Leaf blower taken from business.
11100 block of Little Compton Drive. Two kayaks reported stolen.
2100 block of Maleady Drive. Stereo taken from parked vehicle.
13000 block of New Parkland Drive. Wheels taken from parked vehicle.
1400 block of Northgate Square. Package taken from front porch.
10000 block of Park Royal Drive. Jewelry and golf clubs taken from parked vehicle.
1600 block of Parkcrest Circle. Stereo taken from parked vehicle.
2300 block of Soapstone Drive. Beer taken from business.
12400 block of Willow Falls Drive. Personal digital assistant taken from parked vehicle.
11900 block of Winterthur Lane. License plate taken from parked vehicle.
