Nature's Jewelry. The Walker Nature Education Center will teach adults (ages 16 and up) how to make a beautiful necklace, bracelet, earrings or keychain using glass and metal beads, semiprecious stones and other materials from nature. Kidsit Babysitting Classes. The Herndon Community Center offers courses for youth ages 11-15 on topics such as rights and responsibilities, child development, baby care, toys and games, first aid and how to handle emergencies. Pilates and Yoga. Winter schedule (March 3-April 12) for Pilates and Yoga classes for all ages, including children, at "Balanced Bodies" now open for regestration. Self-Defense. Classes meet every Sunday at the YMCA, from 4-5:30 p.m. Other classes meet 1-2 hours twice a week: Wednesday, from 7:30-9:30 p.m.; Saturdays, from 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. The program is recognized by the Police Martial Arts Association and the American Jujitsu Association. Polymer Clay Classes. With "Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh My!" participants will learn how to make animals out of polymer clay on Saturday, March 8 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. The cost for the class is $20 for people who live and work in Reston; $58 for all others. Reston Institute for the Arts. "Jump! Shout! Dance!" Master Class Series; all master classes will be held at the Reston Community Center.

The Afro-Caribbean Dance Workout of Kukuwa Nuamah will kick off the series with four master classes throughout the semester, one per month from January to April. Plain workout attire, a water bottle and towel. The dates and times for the Afro-Caribbean Workout are as follows:

Saturday, March 15, from 2-3:30 p.m.; Saturday, April 5, from 2-3:30 p.m.

The cost is $15 per session. Pay in advance for all four: $55. Participants will need to reserve a space for each session.

Wee Play. Explore the wonders of spring at Wee Play, a weekly playgroup class. Play at the rice table, make a simple craft, listen to flannel board and puppet stories, shake the parachute, play with bean bags, hoops or balls, and then enjoy a snack with friends. Wee Play is located at the Classical Ballet Academy in Herndon. Classes meet once a week for 10 weeks. Kiddie Open Gym. Herndon Community Center offers prents an escape from cabin fever. Toddlers through 5-year-olds are invited to attend the Kiddle Open Gym every Tuesday and Thursday, through March 6, from 1:30-2:30 p.m. A $3 fee includes a surprise and play on the mats, big wheel days, kiddie basketball, super sticker days and more. Gentle Yoga for Seniors. Safe, relaxing way for older adults to maintain mental and physical well being. This fitness program, sponsored by the RCC Senior Academy, is geared toward people who are challenged by age, illness or inactivity. It will be held at the Reston-Herndon Senior Center, 1850 Cameron Glen Drive in Reston, on Thursdays, from 9:15 a.m.-10:30 a.m., through March 27. Gentle Adult Yoga Classes. Classes are held in Reston at Brown's Chapel. Beginners level. Class schedule is ongoing. Easybridge!3 Brush up on Bridge playing and meet new friends. A 14-week Easybridge! 3 class will be held at the Reston Community Center, Hunters Woods, on Fridays, from 12:30-3:00 p.m., through May 9. The class is intended for persons 55 and older. Fee is $5 per person for people who live or work in Reston, and $10 for all others. A one-time fee of $20 is due to the instructor, Ronald Kral, on the first day of class. Intuitive Painting. Artist Judith Forst offers classes on Tuesdays, through March 18, or on Saturdays, through March 22. Intuitive painting is about the process of painting as a means for "self-expression, moving through creative blocks, finding your authentic voice and experiencing the joy of painting." Cost is $230. ESL Courses. Reston Community Center offers English as A Second Language (ESL) courses for adults with beginning to intermediate levels of proficiency in English. The courses will cover basic grammar, conversation, pronunciation and writing. Classes are targeted to people age 16 and older. Students are required to take a free Assessment Test before they can attend a class. The fee is $20 for people who live or work in Reston and $87 for all others. Winter Wellness Classes. A program at Reston Community Center Hunters Woods. "Basic Skin Care" is the topic of the next class on Thursday, March 20, from 7-9 p.m. The class will teach the latest skin care technology and techniques. The final free session, "Health and Stress Workshop," will be held on Tuesday, April 29, from 7-8 p.m. Discover how stress affects the body and learn simple ways to reduce its negative effects. Scrapbooking Classes. RCC's Scrapbooking for Beginners Workshop will take place Saturday, March 22 from 9-11:30 a.m. The Workshop will be repeated on Tuesday, May 6, from 7-9:30 pm. Cost is $10 for people who live or work in Reston; $15 for all others. The workshops are designed for people age 16 and older.

Mosaics Level II. By the end of class, participants will have the practical skills, experience and know-how needed to plan and complete advanced mosaic glass projects on their own. Mondays, March 17-April 7, from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The class is for students 18 and older. The registration fee is $35 for people who live or work in Reston; $72 for all others. Participants should wear long pants and enclosed shoes.
