<sh>Fairfax Man Charged with Firearms Crimes

<bt>Two Fairfax men have been charged in connection with an incident, on Tuesday, May 6, at Tia's restaurant in the Fair Lakes Promenade Shopping Center. They are Raymond A. Ford, 25, of Kenwood Terrace in Fairfax, and Alexander B. Buie, 24, of Summit Drive in the Crystal Springs community.

According to police, a Springfield woman, 21, and her boyfriend, 22, also from Springfield, were leaving the restaurant and walking to their car, around 1:50 a.m., when two men approached them. Police reported that the pair made derogatory remarks about the woman and began harassing her. The woman exchanged words with the men, and her boyfriend got out of their car to find out what was happening.

Then, say police, one of the men allegedly pulled a gun, pointed it at the couple and fired one round. The bullet ricocheted off the pavement, striking the boyfriend in the shoe, but causing no injury. The suspects fled, but, said police, they returned a short time afterward while officers were on the scene investigating. Police arrested both men, reportedly identified as Ford and Buie. Ford was charged with felony brandishing of a firearm, felony discharging of a firearm in public, disorderly conduct and drunk in public. Buie was charged with drunk in public.
