At St. Stephen's & St. Agnes School: 'Stage Door'

On Nov. 7, St. Stephen's & St. Agnes School will open its theatrical season with Edna Ferber and George S. Kaufman's "Stage Door," a 1930's tale of the trials and tribulations of stage life. This production is especially important to St. Stephen's drama because it is the first play to be performed in the new Chapel/Performing Arts Center, dedicated last spring. The CPAC, as the Chapel has been nicknamed, seats 500 to the old Black Box Theater's 150. The new theater also houses a wonderful lighting and sound system and new dressing rooms for the actors.

The students are extremely excited about the new theater. Senior Emily Russell is thrilled about being able to perform in the CPAC, "The new building will help to make our school more aware of the talent and effort of the arts at St. Stephen's," she said, "It is also amazing for the performers to have the space to work with."

With rehearsals well under way, the students are revving up for opening night and are looking forward to a wonderful and promising year dramatically, enhanced by the new theater.

The performance dates are Nov. 7, 8, and 15 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $4 in advance and $5 at the door. To reserve tickets call 703-212-2788.
