A 57-year-old Arlington area man was robbed of a large amount of money as he entered his business on Friday, Nov. 21, at approximately 9 a.m.
According to police:
The man was entering his check cashing business, located in the Hybla Valley area, when he was approached from behind. The suspect punched the victim in the back and stole his bag containing the money, along with a Smith and Wesson .38 revolver.
The victim chased the suspect but was unable to catch him. The suspect was described as 5-foot-7 Hispanic male, in his 20s; he was wearing jeans and a black coat.
LATER THAT EVENING, a 56-year-old woman awoke to a man assaulting her in her bedroom; she was able to fight off her attacker.
This incident occurred just before midnight, in the 2500 block of Windbreak Drive in the Hybla Valley area.
According to police:
The woman began kicking and screaming and was able to break free from the suspect. The suspect turned and ran downstairs while she chased him and screamed as he fled through the rear sliding glass door.
This suspect was described as a white male in his early 20s who was 5-foot-8 with a thin build; he was wearing a blue baseball cap, white t-shirt, jeans and work boots.
