Signs, Signs, Signs

Letter to the Editor

<bt>To the Editor:

I have long wanted to comment on the proliferation of political signs. Hey, guys and dolls, I and everyone else can read one sign well placed as easily as 10. This guy has 10 so the opponent has to have 12 and so on. In fact, too many [signs] starts to swing the voter away to someone who is more considerate of the landscape.

I think our Democrat and Republican candidates are doing a disservice to our community by posting so many signs. Our area looks trashy. Why can't each of you volunteer to post not more than two signs at each location with reasonable space between them. Of course, I realize all would have to agree.

I saw the mowers having to remove all the many signs so the area could be mowed. That is not an efficient use of their time.

I plead to our delegates, senators, etc. to use some restraint. If they are interested in saving money for their district, I think they should show they can do so with the donations to their own campaign.
