The Elden Street Players are in their fifteenth season. As a group, the Players produce original works and dramas not normally seen in community theater. The Elden Street Players Realm of New Works presents staged readings of new plays from local playwrights, supporting the local theater scene. The intimate setting of the Industrial Strength Theatre, located in Herndon at 269 Sunset Business Park on Spring Street in Herndon, allows no audience member to be more than 20 feet away from the open-arena stage. Great Falls Players produce non-musical plays. Performances are located at the Great Falls Grange, 9818 Georgetown Pike, Great Falls, or at the Alden Theatre, in the McLean Community Center, 1234 Ingleside Ave., McLean. Prices for all shows at the Alden Theatre are $12 for adults and $10 for seniors, students and groups of 10 or more. Tickets for Great Falls Grange are available only at the door.

Pied Piper Theatre, a youth theater company, works in association with the Center for the Arts to promote youth theater and activity, working with children between the ages of 8 and 18. Pied Piper Theatre puts on three major musicals a year. The 2003-2004 season will feature "Jack and the Giant" in the fall, "The Hobbit" in the winter and "The Sound of Music" in the spring. Pied Piper Theatre and the Center for the Arts also run a theater summer camp for children age 5 to 18. Starting in September, Pied Piper Theatre and the Center for the Arts will be located at the Candy Factory on Battle Street in Old Town, Manassas.

Reston Community Players is in its 38th season. It will begin its fall season with "City of Angels." The Alliance Theatre began March 2001 with its first production, Neil Simon’s "I Ought To Be In Pictures." Under the direction of Pat Kallman and her partner Elaine Wilson, the Alliance Theatre brings professional-quality theater to the community. The Alliance Theatre encourages community participation through open auditions for actors and crew members and a play writing contest at Chantilly High School. Alliance Theatre performances take place at local high schools, with the last two taking place at Chantilly High School.
