Arrest Made in Sexual Assault

Fairfax County Police have arrested 40-year-old Terry M. White, of 15383 Grist Mill Terrace in Woodbridge, for the sexual assault of a 17-year-old Springfield area girl.

Police said the girl was assaulted at approximately 3 a.m. last Thursday as she was walking home from an acquaintance's house in Dumfries. The victim was somewhere in the Alexandria area of Fairfax County when she accepted a ride from a stranger.

The man drove her around for some time, then drove her to a secluded area near a lake and sexually assaulted her. The suspect then drove her to the area of the Huntington Metro Station and dropped her off. A passerby stopped and asked if she needed help, and he took her to his home to summon police. The victim was taken to Inova Fairfax Hospital for examination.

The suspect was described as black, in his 40's and 5-feet, 9-inches tall with a shaved head and brown eyes. The suspect's car was described as a dark maroon, older-model, ìbeat-upî four-door sedan with dark tinted windows.

Police picked up White and his arrest was made in part to a DNA match. He was charged with forcible sodomy and was being held without bond.
