This past November Woodson put on the musical “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers,” which is the tale of how Adam, the eldest of the seven Pontipee brothers, finds a wife, Milly, and enlists his other brothers to do the same. The brothers have to deal with the many suitors from town, who do not let their girls go without a fight.
Following “The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940” in May, there will be numerous plays by drama classes from June 3-5. On the first night, the Theater 2/3 class will present “The Glass Menagerie” and “For Whom the Southern Belle Tolls.”
The next night will consist of all short plays including “Greater Tuna,” “The Time Machine,” “This is a Test,” “A Couple of Bimbos Sitting Around Talking” and “The Diary of Adam and Eve.” Finally, on Saturday night, the Theater 4 class is performing several short plays including “Words Words,” “Variations on the Death of Trotsky,” and “Zig-Zag Woman” along with a full length production of “The Complete Works of Shakespeare (abridged).”
