'Don't Cry for Me, Argentina'

Community theater group brings Broadway's 'Evita' to Vienna.

For its annual spring musical, the Vienna Theatre Company presents the Broadway classic "Evita." Written by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber, "Evita" tells the story of Eva Peron, whose ambition transforms her from small-town Eva Duarte to the most powerful woman in the country as wife of General Juan Peron.

The musical, directed by Gloria Dugan, runs for four weekends, April 23 and 24; April 30, May 1 and May 2; May 7 and 8; and May 14 and 15. All performances, which take place at the Vienna Community Center, start at 8 p.m. except for the May 2 performance, which starts at 2 p.m. Tickets are $9 for general admission and $8 for students and senior citizens, and can be purchased at the community center.

The Vienna Community Center is located at 120 Cherry St., S.E.
