Nearly 600 people participated last Sunday in Virginia Run in the seventh annual Walk for Shea, which raised more than $20,000. Resident Shea Megale, 8 1/2, has spinal muscular atrophy, a rare and incurable form of muscular dystrophy, and proceeds go to research. Kevin Latham and the staff of First Horizons Home Loans in Fairfax continue to be the event's leading sponsor. They raised $9,000 at their annual Walk for Shea Cookout on April 21. The new First Horizon banks in Centreville and Fairfax also contributed generously. Megale family friend, Mo Nieves, organized the walk.
