Robinson Terminal Vandalized Again

For the second time in 10 days, the Robinson Terminal on the Alexandria waterfront has been vandalized.

This latest incident occurred on Tuesday morning, Aug. 10. A person or persons forcibly entered the warehouse and caused significant property damage to the interior. The vandals then drove six forklifts into the Potomac and set fire to the newsprint that is stored in the warehouse.

The first incident occurred on July 31, under similar circumstances. Forklifts were driven into the river and the inside of the building sustained significant damage. The two incidents resulted in damage estimated at hundreds of thousands of dollars.

“This damage was caused by someone who is obviously very angry,” said Capt. John Crawford, a spokesperson for the Alexandria Police Department. “We also don’t believe that the amount of damage and type of damage that was caused could have been done by only one person.”

Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to call police at 703-838-4444.
